The beauty of a weight battle or any other “battle” for that matter is that all other battles become less significant, they become far smaller. It’s the largest battle at hand that seizes most of our attention, taking up our mind space at any given moment.
“MIND SPACE FOR RENT” what would that look like? What if only for a day (because that’s all I can promise) I could focus on the available space between my thoughts and give them up to something that makes me feel peaceful, special. Today I chose to give up my “Preferences List” of how things are supposed to be, to go, according to my list (familiar ring to it) and let it all go. For this day I will choose to live in the moment truly open. Ah, but this will never last you say, and I say you haven’t even tried -- not even for one day.

I’d rather leave tonight while the bands still playing, with gratitude in my heart for the dance.
"When you choose to live life open, in total truth, there is certain vulnerability just under the surface. You need to make peace with that feeling, that insight that you have, even when it’s really hard to do. The “If thens…” in life that you used to play out over and over in your mind become meaningless, you traded them in for gratitude and acceptance, knowing that you already have everything you need." - ts

Vulnerability
"Once you come to terms with your vulnerability and accept it as a valide aspect of yourself, you're not so frightened of it. You can have confidence that yes, you're vulnerable, but no longer scared. I'm not afraid of my shadow.
There's a price you pay for being an artist, and that's being vulnerable. It's where the inspiration comes from. It's also what makes artists so self-possessed. The senses aren't deadened, and there's an unfiltered source of external experience that's overwhelming." - Eliza Gilkyson

We Cannot Live the Afternoon of Life According to the Program of Life's Morning
"Thoroughly unprepared, we take the step into the afternoon of life. Worse still we take this step with the false presupposition that our truths and ideals will serve us as hither to. But we cannot live the afternoon of life according to the program of life’s morning. For what was great in the morning will be little at evening and what in the morning was true, at evening will have become a lie.”

Commitment Precedes Vision
"In life, many thoughts are born in the course of a moment, an hour, a day. Some are dreams, some visions. Often, we are unable to distinguish between them. To some, they are the same; however, not all dreams are visions. Much energy is lost in fanciful dreams that never bear fruit. But visions are messages from the Great Spirit, each for a different purpose in life. Consequently, one person's vision may not be that of another. To have a vision, one must be prepared to receive it, and when it comes, to accept it. Thus when these inner urges become reality, only then can visions be fulfilled. The spiritual side of life knows everyone's heart and who to trust. How could a vision ever be given to someone to harbor if that person could not be trusted to carry it out. The message is simple: commitment precedes vision." - High Eagle

Live Like Your Dying
"One of these days you’ll be under the covers you’ll be under the table and you’ll realize. That all of your days are numbered; all of them one to one hundred. All of them millions. All of them trillions. So what are you gonna do with them all? You can not trade them in for more.
Take every moment; you know that you own them. It’s all you can do, use what’s been given to you.
Give me a reason to fight the feeling that there’s nothing here for me. Cause none of its easy; I know it wasn’t meant to be. I know it’s all up to me, it's all up to me. So what am I gonna do with my time?
Ill take every moment, I know that I own them. It’s all up to you to do whatever you choose. Live like you’re dying and never stop trying. It’s all you can do, use what’s been given to you. All of the moments you didn’t notice; gone in the blink of an eye. All of the feelings you couldn’t help feeling no matter how you try."

Gratitude
"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. It turns problems into gifts, failures into successes, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. It can turn an existance into a life, and disconnected situations into important and beneficial lessons. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision of tomorrow... Say thank you, until you mean it. If you say it long enough you will believe it." - The Language of Letting Go, Melody Beattie
